![]() It appears that Joseph moved his family to Ohio around 1805 or 1806. One of the males could have been the Joseph, our progenitor, who was born 1775, Possibly our Joseph was the son of the above Joseph. He was listed in Richmond County (Staten Island), with two males, one under and one over 16 years of age, and five females. Some descendants believe that he was really born in Scotland and come across as an infant, or a very small child and called North Carolina his birthplace.Ī 1790 Census Index for New York lists a single Joseph McDonald. Family lore has alway held that he was born in Scotland. At this census, Joseph claimed to have been born in North Carolina. Appears to have been at the home of his son, Clark, during the census. Joseph was in the 1850 census and was 88 years old. The jury brought an indictment for “betting on poker.” Joseph and Nancy McDonald moved to Lawrence County Missouri. Notes for Joseph Hiram McDonald: MS – Joseph McDonald served on the first Grand Jury in the county at Mexico Missouri. 3 She was born before 1797 in Ohio Co KY (or Henderson Co). She died between 1808-1812 in Henderson Co KY (or Henderson, Webster Co MO).1, 3 He married (2) Nancy Willingham, daughter of Thomas Willingham and Susan Malden-Malin, on in Henderson Co KY (maybe 16 children). 1, 2, 3 He married (1) Elizabeth Ogden about 1799 in NY. He died after 1850 in Polk Co MO (or NY or 1825 Henderson KY). JOSEPH HIRAM MCDONALD1 was born between 1762-1775 in NY (or Scotland or NC). Descendants of Joseph Hiram McDonald Generation 1ġ.
